THE FOOTPRINTS IN MY MEMORIES

This was written in Norway. It started with the first line of the chorus and developed from there. The second verse were written first, but after writing the next one I realised I had to switch them around. It felt like I had begun in the middle of the story, and it needed a beginning. This way made more sense. It is about two people who meets and finds redemption of sorts in each others company. It's a lyric so it should be pretty easy to figure what the chorus is.

The tempest from Toulouse
stepped gently on my toes
when I met her at de gaulle
in last summers dying throes
In the oceans of her eyes
I lost my wisdom found
The cornerstone of reason
sunk and quickly drowned

She left her footprints in my memories
like purple sunblessed silhouettes
She dug her grave in the soil of my soul
so I never would forget

Immersed in the moonlight
where lonely autumns sleep
The birth of romance
began to stir and weep
Ablaze in the meadows
dressed in dripping dew
She cried out in a crazy haze
I am here for you

Days were filled with solace
as we drank from wounded wine
To burn away the hollow
entangled in our minds
Through destiny's arrival
quite by mutual consent
We plunged towards survival
with the promise to repent
